Dental crowns and bridges can restore, protect and improve the appearance and strength of weak, cracked or decayed teeth. They are also used to correct cosmetic problems such as crooked teeth.
Both crowns and bridges can correct one or more missing teeth by inserting a false tooth to fill the area. Two crowns are usually placed on each side of the false tooth to hold it in place. This is known as a fixed bridge, and unlike removable partial dentures, it is a permanent fixture that cannot be taken out of your mouth.
