Sleep dentistry (also referred to as sedation dentistry) are revolutionary optional treatments for anxious patients when undergoing necessary dental procedures. They are designed so patients can receive treatment without knowing or feeling a thing.
At Family Dental Care, we offer two types of sleep dentistry options to ensure your visit to our centre is kept fear and pain-free.
Inhalation sedation - Nitrous oxide, commonly known as ‘laughing gas’ is inhaled by the patient.
Intravenous (IV) sedation - An anti-anxiety medication is injected into a patient's bloodstream by an anaesthetist or dental practitioner to induce a state of deep relaxation
Both methods are ideal for quelling patient fears if you don't want to be aware of the pain or what is happening during your procedure. Alternatively, it's highly effective for making lengthier procedures in the chair more comfortable.
